Thats why we should wear light coloured clothes in summer and dark coloured clothes in winter. In summer we should wear light coloured cloths as they are a good reflector of sunlight whereas in wintes we should wear dark coloured cloths as they are a good absorber of sunlight. Answer: For example in summer it is suitable to wear cotton cloths as they absorb sweat. We need to keep cool in the Summer, and warm in the Winter, so we wear clothing to suit.
The Winter we need to wear warmer clothes, or wrap up, and wear multiple layers. We wear warm or woolen clothes in winter season because they absorb heat from our body and prevent it from escaping out.
We prefer wearing cotton clothes than nylon clothes in summers because cotton absorbs more sweat and evaporates by taking the heat energy required for sweat to evaporate from our body. It makes us feel comfortable and cool. The time to wear nylon in the summer is when you go swimming. Other than that, nylon is to be avoided when it is summer or even when the Spring and Fall are hotter than normal.
While the fabric wicks away moisture it does tend to hold heat and sweat next to your body making you even more uncomfortable. Cotton is one of the best fabrics for summer and hot weather.
Not only is it cheap and hugely available, but it is also great for the heat. Cotton is soft, lightweight, breathable, and soaks up sweat, allowing heat to escape the body and for you to stay cool. Nylon is made to be close to your skin as it wicks away moisture quite well but that and its tight fibers mean that your body will get hotter when wearing this fabric. Since cotton can be woven or knitted into different weights, thicknesses and has a natural ability to breathe, it is the better fabric here.
Nylon is typically found in tougher or more water resistant fabrics like the ballistic nylon in tactical vests or the nylon packcloth in banner signs.
Cotton is a more breathable, softer fabric which can be utilized for everyday clothing to artist canvas material. Cotton is a material that fibrous. These fibers are soft by nature and are what comes in contact with your skin not the fabric itself.
The nature of cotton is what makes it feel so soft to the touch. Small amount of the cotton fiber extend from the surface of the fabric. This along with air creates a barrier between the wearer and the fabric. This small amount of contact is what creates the cushion and feathery touch of the cloths a person wearing cotton experiences.
This trapped air serves more of a purpose than just increasing the comfort of the wearer. In the hot summer months it acts as a barrier against the heat of the sun that accumulates on the surface of the fabric. Since cotton is a natural cellulose fiber, it also absorbs moisture. Where also some air is trapped but not released easily to the environment, which air is getting body temperature and retain heat, as well as creates discomfort to the wearer.
Sensorial Comfort. Sensorial comfort means the effect of fabric properties on human sense. Our sense working by a nervous system based upon neuron. A neuroendocronic gland called hypothalamus is responsible for the heat mechanism of body and can send any signal created on skin to the neuron. The contact between the skin and the inner clothing layer determines the subjective perception of clothing comfort, especially at high skin humidity.
Strong friction between skin and clothing results in greater displacement of the skin during body movements, and thus leads to a higher degree of discomfort. Besides, polyester has a great disadvantage that has a chance of polyester allergy, where cotton is less hazardous from this point of view. Fabric aesthetics also gives a psychological comfort to the wearer.
In case of cotton it is much softer than the polyester whereas polyester is harsh in hand feel. In hot weather cotton gives rough touch whenever it comes contact with skin, polyester is less compressible than cotton. In case of abrasion cotton does not introduce any charge where polyester introduces a negative charge, which makes some sort of discomfort to the wearer. Besides by applying softener and additives to polyester fabric it will become very popular for the casual clothing like cotton fabric.
