Note: As of 4. Now, it is reported that it can despawn as fast as a second and a half. Hopefully this is a bug and we will report as new information comes in. When Maintenance happens, after the servers come up everything should be reset and it'll spawn whenever it decides to.
If there was a reset, usually it doesn't effect spawn timers. Any No Spawn windows should still be in effect Windows where it has spawned too soon ago for it to have a chance to spawn again. One thing resets definitely do change is the connection state of your clients. Keep that in mind, resets disconnect you if you're not there to see it. So factor that into your afk time. All evidence and accounts from people on various servers point exclusively to Aeonaxx being able to be seen from all phases.
Many accounts of people seeing Aeonaxx, going to mount and it already being in progress - followed by a dismount with a parachute lately, it sounds to have been hotfixed to. From someone in one phase later talking to the person from the other phase who got it, comparing notes to come to the same conclusion - people in multiple phases seeing the same Aeonaxx.
Just that the players can't see eachother. When Aeonaxx spawns it flies in a tight circle right where it spawned. It does not circle the Temple of Earth before being mounted. The way you mount it is like a Vehicle. You approach it and right click it just like a vehicle. You can also get in range and hit Interact with Target when you have it targeted, if you have Click to Move enabled, and it will fly to it and mount it. But, you must be close enough for it to work.
I believe it's probably yards or less. I know it doesn't work at s of yards. And only works when it is friendly mountable mode. Spam the shit out of it after you mount. I watched videos, I know he spawns literally ON the coords Im sitting on. I put the good luck charm on my sig on day two of camping last week. I try to follow, and lose him, eventually stumble on the corpse, and 3 hordies from a lvl 25 guild are surrounding him.
I cant be sure if they downed him, because they all mounted their scorpions and ran around. Not a single bat, one raid dragon, and nothing else. Pardon me while I go pound out some northrend rares in extreme frustration for the next 6 hours. My only consolation is that he HAD to have spawned on the other side of the temple from where I was.

What spot were you camping? Ive seen way to many casual fly bys.. I havent seen or heard anything since April 2 for Saon.. Just becareful not to lose your sanity and have a life outside the camp haha, tomorrow its off to the mall for me.

I started again today. And the stupid Xariona is back. And she doesnt seem to despawn! It seemed I couldn't move my hand fast enough to my mouse to begin flying to Aeonaxx's location, almost as if I forgot all of my keybindings too!
I'm flying around frantically looking for him and flying in all of the wrong places. After basically slapping myself for freaking out, I fly back to the Stonecore entrance and as soon as I look to right THERE he is! I'm diving in towards him as fast as my little mount would take me and as I get just barely close enough, another player jumps on him and tags him.
It felt like my heart sunk into the pit of my stomach. I was depressed for a couple of hours after I've never felt so disheartened.
I thought today would be the day, but it's not. Even though I wasn't able to claim him as my own, it's the closest I've come after waiting for so long. I believe one of these Aeonaxx spawns is waiting for me, and it will be meant for me. I will not give up until I'm able to ride on my very own PSD! One day he'll be mine! Until I finally caught glimpse of him yesterday, I thought my chances of ever seeing him were slim to none. It seems the more time I spend waiting, the less it's even about the mount. Don't get me wrong, I want to bag that shiny mount more so now than ever before. I gotta have something to show for all of this time spent waiting! I'm spending my day off from work sitting out here in Deepholm watching tumbleweeds roll by Aeonaxx where are you? I had that happen the first time I camped Aeonaxx.
Waited 14 hrs straight only to have a lvl 83 night elf hunter take him from me. I'm so sorry to hear of your misfortune. I had a hell of a time getting my Aeonaxx.
